To Whom It May Concern,
Roy Pilcher logged approx. 80 acres of our property on the edge of Sundance, Wyoming. 40 acres of the property was in a very steep canyon that other loggers would not do because their equipment would have damaged the area. This area also had much down timber from a storm 2 years ago. One of our major concerns was that the downed timber was a fire hazard. Roy came in and used his horses and did a fine job of removing the down timber and harvesting a portion of the standing timber to make the forest a cleaner and safer area.
By using the horses instead of a skidder there was much less damage to the property and it was very interesting to watch them work. Roy was very easy to work with and did us a fine job. If you have any questions feel free to contact me as listed below.

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Marcelle Herman and I am the grounds superintendent at the Belle Fourche Country Club. We noticed a year ago that we had some areas on our course that were becoming over populated with pine trees thus concerning us with the risk of fire, insects, diseases and lack of new growth.
I had considered having loggers come in to thin the trees, but was concerned about the damage their equipment might do. In conversation with some people in the forestry department, the name Roy Pilcher was recommended in response to the damage concerns. Mr. Pilcher and his team of horses were contracted to remove the trees, as we were assured that this was much less invasive to our course.
Now that the job is complete, I am very grateful for the recommendation of Roy Pilcher and his skidder horses. The trees were removed without damage to the turf or existing trees. I would recommend Roy Pilcher and his horses for any job. Besides being easy to work with, Mr. Pilcher did an outstanding job and is very self-conscious about his work. If you would like to see the results of Mr. Pilchers work, please feel free. We now have opened up the thick areas, taken out the problem trees and left healthy beautiful trees to survive.
Sincerely,
Marcelle Herman

To Whom It May Concern,
The Deadwood area was greatly affected by the Grizzly Gulch Fire in the latter part of June of 2002. Several forested acres of our property were burned. Roy Pilcher was recommended by several residents of our area to remove some of the burned timber. I contacted him and toured a project he was working on. Satisfied by the results seen, I had Mr. Pilcher come to our property for an estimate. I found him to be a source of information on forest management and suggestions for our land. I also visited with him on an area that was needing thinning to help in the reduction of winter snow accumulations along our driveway. We agreed to terms and dates. Mr. Pilcher was timely on his job and more importantly the job site was left free of branches and clutter. The slash pile was placed in an appropriate spot for future burning. All that had been discussed had been carried out. I will be doing more commercial logging projects over the next several years. Mr. Pilcher will definitely be contacted in these future projects.

To Whom It May Concern,
Please let us give you a little history about the situation that led us to the need of Mr. Pilcher's services. We were in desperate need of logging assistance due to the effects of the Grizzly Gulch Fire. After the fire the bark beetles invaded our weakened trees. We were given Roy's name through the local sawmill.
Roy and his family returned my call and inspected the job we had to offer in a very timely manner. He arrived on the set date and time with his livestock and equipment and our job was began. I would like to add that his timely manner was of utmost importance because of the effects the beetles were having on our timber and its value was depreciating quickly. He worked with us and for us in many different areas. He consulted us with any questions that he had which was very much appreciated by us.
Roy and his son's quality of work rates very high on our scale, as they did exactly what we had discussed and more. When the flash flood hit us after the fire. It was Roy who helped us by building birms (beaver dams) up the gulches behind our house. It was Roy who gave us advise in how we could prevent further damage that had affected our property. It has been educating and interesting watching his method of logging with his horses. It has been a pleasure and a joy having Roy and his son work for us. It is refreshing in this day and age to know that there are still family oriented businesses, like Roy's, who are out to help the local families with the tradegies that come and are here for us to help and offer their expertise. If we would ever need this type of help again we would call Roy. We would recommend his services anytime.
Sincerely,
Terry L Hart & Sue Hart.
